searchspell is a unique spellchecking utility used for enhancing web searches. It features a manually maintained typo database that has been updated for over a year and a half to provide the most comprehensive spellchecking capabilities available, even for correct words that can be considered a typo for another, more commonly used word.

In order to expand the usefulness of this database, we are making it available to outside parties for the first time. Customers will receive the full list of all words and typos in our database (currently 3,908,188 as of April 25th, 2003), along with a numerical ranking of the word, for use in determining the most common word associated with that ranking. Licensing deals start at $559, and the potential uses for this data are limited only by your own imagination! The actual product is available in CSV, XML, and MySQL database format, and comes with documentation detailing all of the information available. Payment is accepted via Paypal online payment system.

Please note that this database contains only the "difficult" misspellings of words, and for the most part does not include simple letter omissions (such as "serch" for the word "search"), letter multiples (such as "searrch" for the word "search"), interchanging of letters (such as "saerch" for the word "search"), or insertion of random letters (such as "searxch" for the word "search"). Inclusion of these forms of misspellings would quickly cause the database to swell to billions of entries, rendering it too large to be useful by most applications. The searchspell online tool uses simple programming to generate and search for these types of misspellings, and uses this database of actual misspellings gathered over the past two years to provide the most comprehensive spellchecking and typo generation around.
