searchspell.com Launches Typo Generation Service for Webmasters

TOKYO, JAPAN - February 12, 2001 - searchspell.com http://www.searchspell.com, the first web searching portal to incorporate an active spelling lookup system into web searching, has reverse-engineered its service to allow webmasters to generate common misspellings for key terms to mamize their exposure on search engines. The new typo generation services is available at http://www.searchspell.com/typo.

"Thousands of people have used and continue to use searchspell to enhance their ability to find items with difficult spellings on the web." says Joe Petrow, founder of searchspell.com. "However, we're aware that there are many more search engines out there than we currently offer service for. So it occurred to us that our unique active spellchecking system could also be used in reverse to generate a list of the most common user typing and spelling errors for various terms. When a webmaster places these variations in his keyword META tag, they will mamize his visibility on all search engines on the web."

Utilizing an extensive misspelling lookup database, searchspell is able to correct billions of potential typos, and is intelligent enough to find corrections for words with correct spellings. From there, searchspell allows easy access to search the optimized query with one of several affiliated search engines such as Altavista, Lycos, Mamma, and Goto.com.
